From ice cream cart to ice cream parlour, La Glace is the newest and hottest ‘it’ place for ice cream known mainly for serving up premium French-style ice cream made from scratch. One thing to make note of is that their ice cream uses a higher quantity of egg yolks and cream formulating a richer and creamier consistency.
Located in a small strip mall on the border of the Kitsilano/Arbutus Ridge neighbourhood along MacDonald and 16th, parking might be a hassle during peak hours, but street parking is available. The interior of this place is absolutely breathtaking with remarkable attention to detail. If you look closely, it’s peacock themed with splashes of white, teal, and gold.
Immediate left to the entrance is the water/coffee station stocked with stir sticks, sugar, napkins, glasses, etc.
These colourful house-made meringes can be added as a complimentary topping for every ice cream purchase
The cup sleeves are also peacock themed!
You can also create an ice cream sandwich as an option here !
All of their ice cream are made in small batches from quality ingredients and seasonal fruit stored in beautiful stainless steel carapine.
Different types of toppings from house-made meringue, marshmallow, macaron, or thin waffle crisp (regular or liquorice). Additional toppings are +$1

The options here range from rich, decadent Chocolate à la Passion to a playful Rose Lychee Sorbet to a deliciously nostalgic Crème de la Crème made with pure vanilla bean.
La Glace limits each person a limit of two flavours to sample, but luckily since we came right during opening time, we were able to take our time and sample as many flavours as we had wanted without feeling rushed at all. I ended up getting a double scoop of Matcha Noir made with black sesame and Crème de la Crème while Janine got the triple scoop of Bananes Foster(banana rum toffee and cinnamon swirl), Crème Caramel , and Chocolate à la Passion. Although the ice cream was insanely delicious, I feel indifferent about the waffle as the texture is more crumbly and soft.
For those of you with dairy restrictions, they have vegan options available made with house-made cashew milk.
From classic to crazy flavours, you’re bound to find something here to tantalize your taste buds!
